The Meynaud family has worked in the vineyards in Landerrouat, near Bordeaux, South West France, for several generations. They are passionate about wine production. The family’s objective is to constantly improve the quality of their wines and most importantly to please and satisfy their customers. They produce Bordeaux wines in red, white, and rosé, and 1’INTUITION their new sparkling wine.
In 1973, the Meynaud family started with 10 hectares. Today, they have 160 hectares and produce more than 800,000 liters of wine. They continually invest in the work and development of their vineyards and the winery. The vineyards are certified as ‘High Environmental Value’ and are committed to protecting and maintaining the vineyards with limited impact on the environment.
The development of quality products requires a great deal of personal commitment. Patience and efficiency are the heart of being a winemaker. Absolute knowledge of the different plots and grapes varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon for red wines, and Sauvignon for white wine, is vital. In collaboration with their valuable ally, consultant oenologist Jean Louis VINOLO, they diligently use their extensive experience and knowledge to produce traditional wines such as Emmanto aged in oak barrels, and modern wines such as 1’INTUITION a new sparkling wine unique to their winery.
Annually their work is rewarded by national competitions in Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Macon, and the international competitions Challenge International Blaye, Brussels, and London. The awards are an acknowledgment of the caliber of their wines, and a recognition of the skills they have as winemakers. The medal awards are a guarantee of quality. To date, they have won 134 medals for their wines. Every year, they progress, they learn and they invest to ensure they establish ongoing and lasting relationships with their customers.
Just recently, they have joined London Awards 2021 and have received a Gold Award for their 1’INTUITION VIN EFFERVESCENT and a Silver Award for their CHATEAU FRANC COUPLET CUVEE EMMANTO BORDEAUX SUPERIEUR ROUGE 2016.
Earl Château Franc Couplet has started to export 10 years ago. Each year, they increase and want to build serious partnerships. They endeavour to tailor the requirements of their customers to their specific needs. For now, they have not been able to export to London. However, they are negotiating with several retailers and foresee that they will be marketing their produce within 2021 and are keen to work with all importers and distributors to find the best way to market their wines in Britain.
