Over the past 12 months, champagne has been a standout performer on the secondary market, gaining greater global popularity among drinkers and investors.

Prices for some top vintage Champagnes have generally continued to rise this year after picking up steam in the second part of 2021. Demand is out of control, said Matthew O’Connell, Bordeaux Index’s head of investing and the CEO of the UK-based merchant’s LiveTrade platform. In fact, he claimed, momentum in 2022 has been a little bit better than anticipated.
